  This snow fella was bought a few years ago when I first moved to NC. There is a big show here called the Holly Day Fair in Nov. It is huge and used to be pretty nice. Now it has switched over to more commercial items like bracelets, purse all factory made. Last year there was only one prim store there so I quit going. I love this guy. She had a girl and guy but I only bought the guy ;)

  Ok this guy was bought at a craft show I did with my mom is 96. He is made from paper mache and hand painted. He is killer finding a place to put up as my cats want to attack his beard. Last year I kept finding pieces of it all over the floor. Now I hang him way high up on the bathroom door LOL Oh an dI have to crow. I made it into my very first ETSY treasury but once but twice!   Okay okay I totally forgot to post yesterday so I am posting two old prims today and their stories LOL. First is one of my favorites. it is a purple santa made from a big wood post and he has a paperclay I believe face. Comes with the lit tree too. I bought him at a craft show in Pittsburgh Pa that my mother and I were doing. The lady was beind us and selling them out like mad! I hopped on over and told her to hold this one for me and bought it. I wish I would have gotten her card as last year this piece made me cry. I have always stored it in the closet wrapped up real well. Well, last year I got it out and when I unwrapped it the face had broke in half! I cried but being ever so resourceful, I took it apart as it is screwed into a piece of muslin and wood , glued it and touch it up and put it back. You can still see the crack but now I tell people, it's the patina of the piece LOL So he doesn't get packed away anymore, he stays up in my workspace all year round. The top piece I got at another show my mother and I did. Just thought he was a cute piece. He has real fur trim though and the cats want to chew him so he goes up high when he goes out. His beard is starting to come off so going to have to repair it :) Oh and just a quick note that I just added more new items to purchase from my spring slideshow so go to my website at bottom of homepage to view and also I relisted my small cupid dollie on Etsy as he sold really quick! My mom and I went to a show in Youngstown OH. The lady who was selling this item, was selling them like crazy. So I just had to have one. He called to me. I didn't know why at the time. I still love this piece and bring him out every year to sit on the mantle. My hubby hates him thinks he is ugly, but what do men know LOL I wish the lady would have signed her name to it. It just has her initials and the date. I think he is paperclay, what do you all think? He is very light. I call him jester santa. He has the ribbons and bells and real rabbit fur trim around his hood. So paperclay or not? Oh and what do you think his beard is made out of? Flax maybe? Hmmnnn questions questions.....
Tomorrow. Just got his screaming bag of children and pitchfork done and it is now drying. He is so awesome I can't wait for you all to see it ! I will be relisting another later if you missed it :) Sue  Ok this prim is the first in a series of stories I will be publishing this week about my older prims and how it got me started in this whole primitive business. This prim is one I hold the dearest because I made it with my father when I was 15 yrs old. The story behind this guy is my dad was making wooden crafts for my mother to sell at local shows and shops. He decided to try his hand at whittling wood. Well, he didn't like the way this santa turned out and so he threw it in the trash can he has in his workshop. I was walking by and saw it and I saw a vision of what it could look like so I dug it out of the trash can, painted it and sanded it and put antiquing stain on it and walla here he is now 22 years later! My dad was amazed at how it transformed after being painted. I have kept this since I was 15. I am 37 now. Every time I bring it out for Christmas it reminds me of this story and time.....
Krampus is now done. I am now working on his pitchfork and scared children in basket. Pics unveiled by Weds on Spooky Spells blog. Second I listed a ton of new items in my Etsy shoppe, vintage patterns, books and fabric and it is flying out the shoppe so take a looksie. Thirdly, I am going to be posting over the next few days Vintage Primitives and the stories behind them. These are prims I bought or made when I was like 15-17 yrs old so 20 yrs ago. Sooo if you want to see some good pics and read some good stories well here you shall come :) Oh and dad sold his last turkey call out tonight on Etsy so if you wanted one but was waiting, he is making more but it will be about 3 months before I get any in :) Thanks.... She is classic 1950's waitress Annie. Pattern by Emily Franz. She is going to be $50 plus travelin fare and then if you wouldlike her stitchery for button soup it would be an extra $30. They sell well on my website and Etsy so wanting to test ebay. This is the last turkey call I will have for awhile as it takes my father about 3 months to make one and get the sound perfected. He is working on some but I won't see any of them until at least March maybe right before Easter. So great gift for a hunter for then, birthday gift, etc.... I have overhauled my website to Valentine's Day which seems strange when Christmas hasn't arrived yet but it needed to be done. There are now new dolls up there for ordering. I also added another page to the farmhouse tab of new dollies for ordering. Last but not least I want to say Have a Great Christmas!
