i posted just the grey model of this guy a while back and i've started working on him again so i thought i'd post an in progress. the following concept was by matt kvamme. i built a set and just started texturing it recently. i intend to do a short animation with him next quarter. i'm using maya 2008 and rendering with Mental Ray and heres where i'm at so far. this post stands as a place-holder until i get a finished render to post, mostly i just wanted to move it up in the archive.
This is an overall reel of some of my better work over 2008 and a little of 07. Demo Reel 2008 from zac leckscheid on Vimeo. I'm not sure how it happened but this page disappeared off my blog so I'm re-posting it. A creatures life cycle. The cowboy hat one is my favorite. self portrait assignment in 5 different styles. Guess which styles I emulate These next two were acting assignments.

This here is my first run at texturing and lighting in Maya. We were only given three weeks to learn lighting and rendering in Maya, and considering I had limited knowledge of it before hand, I think this project turned out all right. Though i can easily say it's not my best work to date and we were all given the same modeled room, so there are about two dozen rooms out there that look pretty much like this one. [Maya 2008, Mental Ray, Photoshop]this project marks the end of my ninth quarter at the art institute. i'll be animating a lot next quarter and they're teaching us how to rig in Maya too. so my plan is to texture Mario and maybe build him a set over christmas break.
This is Wendy Koopa from mario 3, the following concept art was done by Gary Storkamp. I spent a lot more time on lighting, rendering and compositing here than I have on past projects. I played around with VRay scene states too and got some interesting results. This is my first attempt at 3D painting a character's texture, which I did using ZBrush. All in all I learned a lot with this project.anyway, here it is; [3ds Max, vray, photoshop and z brush]
I stumbled across this animation that came out of Gobelins studio in France. it's pretty badass..Underground Psychoa lip sync i did a while ago to practice with audio. i recently rendered it so i'm posting it3D lip sync from zac leckscheid on Vimeo.3dsmax, vray, after effectsI'm shamelessly posting this quick animation that was left off of Rinky Poop. I entered it into a physics competition at school and I heard that out of three entries, mine made second. Which makes this exactly average. The competition was on friction.Nose Friction from zac leckscheid on Vimeo.this is an animation that I worked on with Erik Domholt, Brent Droog, and Jim Van Den Bogart. We completed this version in a week to meet the MET submission deadline. It still awaits a revision but I wanted to post it as is for now. My role in this project was the modeling and rigging of the second character as well as the animation for the first two characters.Rinky Poop__trial from zac leckscheid on Vimeo.3ds max, vray, zbrush and after effectsHere's a character that I modeled and rigged for a group animation called Rinky Poop. Jim Van Den Bogart textured it while I was animating. [3ds Max, Vray]
I present to you; lazy animation with nice renders to make up for it. And it's in HD!!Untitled from zac leckscheid on Vimeo.[3ds Max and vray 1.5] |
